“You live like this, sheltered, in a delicate world, & you believe you are living. Then you read a book, or you take a trip, & you discover that you are not living, that you are hibernating. The symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. The second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous & might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. That is all. It appears like an innocuous illness. Monotony, boredom, death. Millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it. They work in offices. They drive a car. They picnic with their families. They raise children. & then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, & it awakens them & saves them from death.” — Anais Nin

Where I was born and raised for 23 years in New Port Richey, Florida is the area of newlyweds and nearly dead, the creme of de la creme of crazies. I blame a strange magnetic force upon the area, people just stuck to the area and the ones that leave always seem to come back. The indians packed up and left the area thousands of years ago, they must of had good reason. Why can’t the youth of today do the same? Many of the people I went to high school with are still working at the same place in the mall they worked years ago and are married, have a brood of children…never stepping foot outside of the city. Mentioning my past trips to Europe, my friends look at me as if I just fell from the sky.

New Port Richey and Florida in general will always be my home in my heart but in September 2008, having an ominous feeling that something wasn’t quite right. I was on the verge of graduating college and on the edge of almost out of my mind with lack of motivation and the feeling that I should be somewhere doing something grand, living life to the fullest, celebrating the sunrise…sipping coffee with a loved one and having elaborate conversations of the mysteries of life. This all seemed an impossible mirage under the draining sun of Florida. Until one fateful day I met Daniel

As I know now… Nothing is Impossible.

Miss Destructo is Hailing from the swamps of the south, currently starting a blue-haired revolution in Tampa, Florida while destroying boredom worldwide. I am a ultra tall, sarcastically crass, swank, classy dame of the creative persuasion. Also highly uncoordinated, somewhat of an insomniac with a slight addiction to caffeine and 80's music videos.
